Options available to jurors during deliberation in Trump trial

Analysis of Donald Trump’s Hush-Money Trial Verdict Possibilities

The fate of former President Donald Trump hangs in the balance as a panel of 12 New Yorkers deliberates on whether he is guilty of felony charges related to hush-money payments. After more than five weeks of testimony and a mountain of evidence, the jury must now decide if Trump falsified business records in connection to payments made to adult-film star Stormy Daniels.

Prosecutors have argued that Trump improperly recorded the money used to reimburse his former lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, as legal expenses. They further claim that Trump falsified business records to conceal a violation of state election law. On the other hand, the defense has sought to discredit key witness testimony in an attempt to undermine the case against Trump.

If found guilty, Trump could face up to four years in prison per count, although experts believe it is unlikely he will serve time behind bars due to the non-violent nature of the offense and his age. On the other hand, an acquittal would be a major blow to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

As the jury deliberates, the world watches closely to see if Trump will become the first former US president to be convicted of a felony. Stay tuned for updates on this historic trial as it unfolds in the Manhattan courtroom.
