Australian Dental Foundation’s Major Toothpaste Donation

Adelaide, Australia — The Australian Dental Foundation (ADF) marked its annual Brush for Good Day on July 31 with a generous donation of 4,800 tubes of toothpaste to children in South Australia’s child protection and family support system. This initiative aims to bolster oral health among the state’s most vulnerable youth.

In collaboration with the Department for Child Protection (DCP), the ADF is committed to ensuring that children in care receive essential dental support, which includes regular dental checkups and treatments provided in over 350 schools and childcare centers across South Australia.

Dr. Greg Miller, Chairman of the ADF, emphasized the importance of dental hygiene, stating, “Brushing your teeth twice a day is the number one way to prevent dental problems.” He highlighted that this donation serves as a vital reminder of the significance of maintaining good oral health.

The partnership with the DCP extends beyond toothpaste donations. It includes emergency dental treatment for children in care, dental and orthodontic assistance for those transitioning out of state care, and clinics held at DCP offices during school holidays. This comprehensive approach aims to address the dental needs of children who may otherwise lack access to essential care.

As the ADF continues its mission to promote oral health, this initiative stands as a testament to the organization’s dedication to improving the lives of South Australia’s most vulnerable children.
