Nike Georges Appointed President of Georges Enterprises, Signaling New Leadership Era

Nike Georges Takes the Helm as President of Georges Enterprises, Ushering in a New Era of Leadership

Elmwood, LA — In a significant move for the family-owned Georges Enterprises, Nike Georges has been appointed as the new president, marking a pivotal transition in leadership within the company. At just 28 years old, Nike steps into this role under the guidance of his father, CEO John Georges, who has helmed the company for over four decades.

Georges Enterprises, the parent company of food distributor Imperial Trading Co. and a diverse portfolio that includes media, gaming, and real estate, has seen remarkable growth since its founding in 1916 by Gus Pelias. With annual sales exceeding $3 billion and a workforce of 2,500 employees, the company is a cornerstone of the Louisiana economy.

“There comes a point when it’s time for the next generation,” John Georges stated, emphasizing the importance of this leadership transition. “Nike has been with the company for six years. He’s ready.” John himself became president at the age of 30, and he believes that now is the right moment to pass the torch.

Nike joined Georges Enterprises in 2019 after earning a degree in public policy and leadership from the University of Virginia. Since then, he has gained invaluable experience in management at Imperial Trading, where he played a crucial role in implementing an automated storage and retrieval system at the Bossier City Distribution Center.

“It’s an honor,” Nike said in a recent interview. “I plan to focus initially on enhancing Imperial’s competitive position. We are looking to make good investments in the state to help us be competitive on a national level, because we are competing with big national distributors.”

Imperial Trading, which supplies food and products to over 5,000 convenience stores across 21 states, is poised for growth under Nike’s leadership. As he embarks on this new chapter, the company aims to strengthen its market presence and continue its legacy of innovation and excellence.

With the Georges family at the helm, the future looks bright for Georges Enterprises as it navigates the challenges of a rapidly evolving business landscape.
