Meteorologist Craig Adams Weather Update: Memorial Day Forecast and Beyond

Meteorologist Craig Adams has issued a weather update for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday, and it looks like the sunny streak will come to an end.

After a weekend of beautiful weather, with Albany reaching a high of 84 degrees, Monday will bring showers as a low pressure system moves into the eastern Great Lakes. The day will be cloudy with the potential for locally heavy rain in the afternoon and evening. A breezy southeast flow will also be present, with temperatures reaching only 70-75 degrees, a departure from the recent 80-degree days.

As the system moves north into Canada on Monday night, showers will taper off, but there is still a chance of pop-up showers on Tuesday and Wednesday due to additional upper level energy. However, high pressure will build in later in the week, providing a quiet stretch of weather with temperatures around 75 degrees.

For the late-night hours, expect increasing clouds with isolated showers possible. Winds will be from the southeast at 5-15 mph, with lows of 60-65 degrees.

On Memorial Day, expect cloudy skies with showers developing, some of which could be heavy in the afternoon. It will be breezy and cooler, with winds from the south-southeast at 10-20 mph and gusts up to 25 mph. Highs will be in the range of 70-75 degrees.

Tuesday will be breezy with sun peeking in and out of the clouds, and a scattered shower or two possible. Winds will be from the southwest at 10-20 mph, with highs of 75-80 degrees.

Wednesday will see sun and clouds with the risk of occasional showers, and highs in the lower 70s.

Overall, the holiday weekend will end on a wet note, but the weather will improve as the week progresses. Stay tuned for further updates from Meteorologist Craig Adams.
