The Full-Time MBA Class of 2026 exemplifies this transformation, boasting an impressive 59% female representation. This shift not only reflects a commitment to diversity but also highlights a new generation of leaders drawn from varied backgrounds, including journalism, education, and social sectors. The program’s dedicated Social Sector award aims to attract high-potential candidates from non-profits and social enterprises, reinforcing HKUST’s focus on public impact.
Asia’s economic trajectory is central to HKUST’s vision. With China’s per capita GDP projected to double by 2035 and Indonesia emerging as a regional powerhouse, the need for innovative business leaders has never been more pressing. The MBA curriculum is designed to align with these shifts, offering cutting-edge electives like “Practical AI for Business” and “Chinese Tech Strategy in the Global AI Era.” This flexibility allows students to tailor their learning experiences to meet their career aspirations.
HKUST’s faculty, known for their blend of academic rigor and practical insight, play a pivotal role in this transformation. Approximately two-thirds of MBA courses are taught by instructors with significant industry experience, ensuring that students receive real-world insights alongside theoretical knowledge. “Theoretical knowledge alone won’t cut it,” says Professor Paul Kitney, emphasizing the importance of bridging insight with execution.

Last year, over 200 students participated in global study programs, while the school welcomed 195 visiting students from partner institutions—a 42% increase from the previous year. With partnerships spanning 80 leading institutions worldwide, HKUST is committed to providing students with a truly global perspective.

During this event, several HKUST MBA startups showcased their ventures, ranging from high-tech building materials to AI-enabled healthcare solutions, to eager investors.

Similarly, Carmen Chan, who moved from the UK to Hong Kong, embraced the city’s unique blend of cultures and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
