CROWN POINT, IN — Dr. Ashraf Hasan, a specialist in interventional spine and pain management, has officially joined the Franciscan Physician Network, expanding healthcare options for residents in Crown Point. Dr. Hasan is now accepting new patients at the Franciscan Physician Network Specialty Center located at 12750 St. Francis Drive, Suite 410.
Dr. Hasan earned his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. He completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital in Chicago, equipping him with the expertise to address a variety of pain management issues.

Free Car Seat Safety Event in Hammond on September 19
HAMMOND, IN — Franciscan Health is set to host a complimentary car seat safety event on September 19, aimed at ensuring the safety of young passengers in Indiana. The event, co-hosted by the Trauma Services Department and the Prenatal Assistance Program, will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. in the rear parking lot of St. Joseph Church, located at 5314 Hohman Ave.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to bring the child who will use the car seat, as certified technicians will provide guidance on proper installation. While the event is free, reservations are required. Interested participants can call 219-852-7875 to secure their spot.
First Things First Porter County Promotes Laura Green
PORTER COUNTY, IN — First Things First Porter County has announced the promotion of Laura Green to Training and Technical Assistance Specialist. Green, who joined the organization in 2022 as Outreach Coordinator, will now serve as the subject matter expert in early childhood development.
With a background as a developmental therapist and a degree in Early Intervention from Purdue University, Green is well-equipped to support community partners in enhancing the lives of young children.

Women’s Fund of Porter County Awards $57K in Grants
PORTER COUNTY, IN — The Women’s Fund of Porter County has announced $57,500 in grants to support local organizations focused on the needs of women and children. The Caring Place and Porter County Aging and Community Services will each receive $25,000, while Dressed For School, Our Greater Good, and Parents As Teachers of Porter County will receive $2,500 each.
Since its inception, the Women’s Fund has awarded over $950,000 in grants, demonstrating a strong commitment to community support.
