FORT MYERS, Fla. — Tropical Storm Lorenzo has officially dissipated, marking the end of its brief existence in the Atlantic. As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, the storm was producing sustained winds of 35 mph, having been the 12th named storm of the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane season. Historically, an average hurricane season sees around 14 named storms by the end of November.

The Gulf Coast Storm Team is now shifting its focus to a tropical wave that is expected to move into the Caribbean by the end of next week. While some forecast models suggest the potential for development, meteorologists caution that it is still too early to determine if a new storm will form.
