PARIS — In a groundbreaking fusion of science and skincare, Scandinavian beauty brand Mantle has launched its latest product, The Organ Essence, inspired by heart transplant preservation techniques. This innovative serum promises to revolutionize the way we think about skincare by harnessing the power of antioxidants used to protect organs during transplants.

Josefin Landgård, CEO and co-founder of Stockholm-based Mantle, shared the story behind the product’s inception. “Our chemist, who leads our R&D, was researching heart transplant procedures for her goddaughter. She discovered the liquid used to preserve organs, which prevents oxidation and degradation,” Landgård explained. This sparked an idea: could a similar formula be developed for skincare?

The result is The Organ Essence, a gentle yet effective liquid designed to protect skin from free radicals and environmental stressors. Unlike traditional antioxidants, which can irritate sensitive skin, this new formulation is designed to be universally tolerable. “For the first time in the world, it’s available as a skincare product,” Landgård stated proudly.

Since its launch earlier this week, The Organ Essence has garnered rave reviews for its ability to hydrate and strengthen skin, effectively reducing dryness and promoting a brighter complexion. “We’ve seen significant improvements in pigmentation and overall skin health,” Landgård noted.

Retailing at 48 euros for a 100-ml bottle, The Organ Essence is part of Mantle’s largest product launch to date. The brand, founded in 2020, has quickly made a name for itself with a diverse range of 38 products, including skincare, bath, body, and hair care items. Mantle’s offerings are designed to withstand the harsh Scandinavian climate, focusing on barrier-repairing and nourishing ingredients.

Landgård, who has a background in technology, emphasizes the brand’s commitment to innovation. “Everything we create is tech-infused and driven by research,” she said. The lab continually explores new ingredients, blending traditional elements with cutting-edge science. Key ingredients include ceramides, bakuchiol, and even jellyfish mucin.

Mantle has established a strong presence in its home market of Sweden, with growing distribution in Germany, Denmark, and beyond. The brand is available in prestigious retailers such as Liberty and Selfridges in the UK, as well as Le Bon Marché in France and Printemps NYC in the U.S.

With an estimated total sales of 7 million euros last year and a recent funding round raising 2.4 million pounds, Mantle is poised for further expansion across Europe. Backed by major investors like H&M, the brand is set to continue its innovative journey in the beauty industry.

As Mantle continues to push the boundaries of skincare, The Organ Essence stands as a testament to the brand’s dedication to merging science with beauty, offering consumers a unique solution for healthier, more resilient skin.
