The Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office responded to two separate shootings at Ginnie Springs over the Memorial Day weekend. Shots were fired inside Ginnie Springs between the Devil’s Spring and the Tube Launch, according to GCSO. The first shooting was reported overnight on May 24 and the second followed shortly after during the overnight hours of May 25. “No additional details are being released at this time to maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigation,” GSCO said.

Ginnie Springs assured guests through social media that the park is open again for daily admission and resumed normal operations at 8 a.m. on May 28. “Details and additional information about these cases will be released at the appropriate time, hopefully in the near future,” GSCO said.

GSCO and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are investigating.
