As West Hartford celebrates Indigenous Peoples Day, the local business scene is buzzing with news of new openings, anniversaries, and a few farewells. Here’s what you need to know about the latest happenings in our vibrant community.

New Beginnings

Wonder is set to take over the former West Elm space in Blue Back Square by 2026. This innovative dining concept will feature a multi-restaurant ordering platform from renowned chefs like Bobby Flay and José Andrés. With options for dine-in, delivery, and pick-up, Wonder promises to cater to every craving, making it a perfect choice for families and groups with diverse tastes.

West Hartford Business Update: October 13, 2025 – We-Ha

Pink Petal, a bakery and café, will open next week in the former Green Teahouse space at Westfarms. Expect a delightful menu featuring breakfast, lunch, and sweet treats, all designed to provide a fun and delicious experience for shoppers.

Celebrations in the Community

Cafe Sofia is celebrating its 15th anniversary on October 23 with live music from the Hall High School Jazz Band and a special discount on crepes. Owner Sofia Harutyunyan expresses gratitude for the community’s support over the years.

Boqueria will also celebrate its two-year anniversary on October 16 with an all-night happy hour and complimentary cava toast, thanking patrons for their support.

Farewells and Transitions

After a decade of service, Body Roc will close its doors on October 31. The gym’s team expresses heartfelt gratitude to its community, promising that while the physical space may close, the spirit of Body Roc will continue through future events and initiatives.

Tags, the pop-up thrift store at 70 LaSalle Road, has closed as it makes way for the upcoming Insomnia Cookies. However, Tags will host a fall clothing and accessory market at Sparrow Pizza Bar on October 19.

Community Engagement

The Moms & More Halloween Stroll is set for October 25, expecting around 5,000 attendees. Local businesses are encouraged to participate in this festive event.

Additionally, Journey 2 Success is hosting a fundraiser at Urban Lodge Brewery on October 16, featuring a unique Drag Show Bingo event to support disabled entrepreneurs.

Awards and Recognition

BEST Cleaners has been named the 2025 Retailer of the Year by the Connecticut Retail Network, recognizing its commitment to customer service and community engagement. The award ceremony will take place at the Bushnell on October 30.
