Netflix Sparks Excitement for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein with Dazzling Halloween Events

As Halloween approaches, Netflix is igniting the passion of Frankenstein fans with a thrilling lead-up to the streaming release of Guillermo del Toro’s highly anticipated adaptation of the classic tale.

Over the Halloween weekend, the streaming giant hosted a series of spectacular events in Hollywood, culminating in a sold-out IMAX screening at the iconic TCL Chinese Theater. The evening featured a captivating conversation between del Toro and director Jason Reitman, with a star-studded cast including Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, and Christoph Waltz gracing the screen. Frankenstein is currently showing in select theaters and will be available on Netflix starting November 7.

The festivities kicked off on Thursday with a breathtaking display of 1,500 drones creating a simulated lightning storm above the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, where the title of del Toro’s adaptation illuminated the night sky. The following day, six synchronized drone shows dazzled audiences with cutting-edge technology, mimicking a lightning storm over the historic Hotel Roosevelt and the Capitol Records building.

Fans of the film embraced the Halloween spirit by donning del Toro-inspired costumes for the screening at the Chinese Theater. Attendees were treated to exclusive Frankenstein popcorn buckets and limited-edition posters, adding to the excitement of the night.

The celebration didn’t stop in Hollywood; it extended to New York City, where similar lightning displays at the Tiffany & Co. flagship store on Fifth Avenue drew attention to window displays that reimagined iconic scenes from the film. “A storm is brewing,” teased the film’s Instagram account, sharing footage of the electrifying drone show.

Del Toro, who has spent over 15 years bringing this project to life, reflected on the journey during the Toronto International Film Festival. “This sort of closes a huge episode in my life,” he remarked, emphasizing the significance of the film to his career.

In a glowing review for The Hollywood Reporter, chief film critic David Rooney praised Frankenstein as “one of del Toro’s finest,” highlighting its epic storytelling and extraordinary artistry.

As anticipation builds for the film’s Netflix debut, fans are left buzzing with excitement, eager to experience del Toro’s unique vision of Mary Shelley’s timeless classic.
