Beneteau Group speeds up connectivity in Marine Business News

Groupe Beneteau Enhances Seanapps Application with Twelve New Sensors for Safer, More Comfortable, and Sustainable Navigation

Groupe Beneteau, a world leader in the yachting industry, is taking connectivity to the next level with the enhancement of its Seanapps application. The application, launched in 2019 for monitoring and predictive maintenance of boats, is now equipped with a dozen new sensors aimed at improving safety, comfort, and sustainability during navigation.

With these new sensors, boat owners will have access to real-time information about their boats directly from their smartphones. This includes data on energy performance, access points, temperature, humidity, and more. The goal is to provide a more comprehensive and interactive experience for boat owners, ultimately leading to safer and more environmentally friendly navigation.

Groupe Beneteau’s ambition is to equip 20,000 boats with these sensors by 2025 and eventually connect its entire network to Seanapps. This development aligns with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach, as it aims to integrate environmental considerations into its operations and achieve sustainability goals through the use of data-driven solutions.

Gianguido Girotti, General Manager of Groupe Beneteau’s Boat Division, expressed the company’s commitment to leading the transformation of the nautical sector and addressing environmental challenges. The Seanapps application, with its advanced functionalities and connected fleet, is a key tool in guiding the development of more responsible and sustainable boats.

In addition to environmental benefits, the new sensors added to Seanapps also enhance safety and comfort on board. Engine and battery sensors improve operational efficiency and simplify maintenance, while security sensors monitor access points and alert owners of any unauthorized movement. These features not only provide peace of mind for boat owners but also contribute to a more enjoyable sailing experience.

Overall, the integration of these new sensors into the Seanapps application represents a significant step forward in the evolution of boat connectivity and sustainability. By leveraging technology to enhance safety, comfort, and environmental impact, Groupe Beneteau is setting a new standard for the yachting industry.
