School Students Hospitalized Due to Severe Heatwave in Bihar

The scorching heatwave in India has wreaked havoc on the daily lives of many people, especially in Bihar, where the temperature has soared to over 47 degrees Celsius. The intense sun has caused a surge in heat-related illnesses, with numerous individuals, including school students, falling ill and suffering from heat strokes.

In a distressing turn of events, several school students in Bihar have fainted due to the unbearable heat, requiring them to be rushed to the hospital for treatment. A video shared on X by PTI shows concerned guardians fanning the students and looking after them as they struggle with the effects of the heatwave. In one heartbreaking moment captured in the clip, a family can be seen rushing into the hospital with their child in tow.

The situation is expected to worsen as the weather department has forecasted a blistering heatwave to engulf several districts in Bihar, including Buxar, Aurangabad, Gaya, Kaimur, and Rohtas. High alerts have been issued in Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Bhabua, Rohtas, Aurangabad, and Nawada. The scorching temperatures have already reached alarming levels, with Buxar recording a temperature of 46.4 degrees Celsius, Gaya at 46.8 degrees Celsius, and Dehri at 47 degrees Celsius.

The humidity in the air in Bihar ranges between 60 and 70%, making individuals feel even hotter than the actual temperature. In Patna, the maximum temperature reached 42.8 degrees Celsius, but people reported feeling temperatures as high as 55 degrees Celsius due to the high humidity levels.
