Bombay Shaving Company Secures ₹136 Crore in Funding Round Led by Sixth Sense Ventures

Gurugram, India – In a significant boost for the men’s grooming sector, Bombay Shaving Company has successfully closed a funding round of ₹136 crore (approximately $15.3 million). This round, which includes both primary and secondary investments, was spearheaded by Sixth Sense Ventures and saw participation from notable figures including founder and CEO Shantanu Deshpande, the Patni Family Office, GII, high-net-worth individuals, and former Indian cricket star Rahul Dravid.

Founded in 2015, Bombay Shaving Company has rapidly established itself as a key player in the grooming market, offering a diverse range of products for both men and women. The company’s portfolio spans categories such as shaving, hair care, beard care, and skin care, with recent expansions into women’s hair removal products.

With this latest infusion of capital, the company aims to enhance its omnichannel presence, broaden its retail reach, and invest in brand-building initiatives. “Our focus remains on evolving consumer needs, delivering high-quality products at competitive prices, and strengthening our brand,” Deshpande stated in a press release. He also hinted at a potential Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the near future, emphasizing the company’s impressive net revenue run rate of over ₹550 crore and its profitability achievements.

Bombay Shaving Company has reported a doubling of its performance compared to FY25, showcasing strong growth in core categories, particularly in trimmers and electric shavers, as well as a notable expansion in the women’s grooming segment through its brand Bombae.

As the grooming market becomes increasingly competitive, with rivals like Ustraa, Beardo, and The Man Company, Bombay Shaving Company’s strategic funding and growth initiatives position it well for future success. Deshpande expressed optimism about carrying retail investors along on the company’s growth journey, stating, “We intend to continue this performance and take the company public soon.”

With a commitment to innovation and quality, Bombay Shaving Company is poised to redefine the grooming landscape in India, making waves as it prepares for its next chapter.
