Weather Forecast for Memorial Day Weekend 2024

Memorial Day weekend started off with a showery note, but the weather is looking up for the rest of the holiday. Despite the damp start, Memorial Day itself will be dry with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-to upper 60s, which is right on par for this time of year.

However, the dry spell will be short-lived as a low-pressure system is set to bring showers to the coast on Tuesday morning, spreading inland throughout the day. The wet weather will continue into Wednesday, with temperatures cooling back down into the upper 50s. A convergence zone will form over the region on Wednesday, bringing spotty showers and a chance for thunderstorms in the afternoon.

By Thursday, the rain showers will clear up, giving way to partly cloudy skies and warmer temperatures in the low to mid-60s. This break in the wet weather will last a few days as an upper-level ridge keeps storms at bay.

As we head into the final day of May and welcome June, we can expect partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s on Friday. However, the mild temperatures may be short-lived as there is a chance for showers and sunbreaks by Sunday.

Meteorologist Rebecca Stevenson from The KOMO Forecast Team provided a late update, indicating that cloudy, cool, and showery weather will return for Tuesday and Wednesday. The Puget Sound Convergence Zone will bring persistent showers to the region, with a slight chance of thunderstorms on Wednesday.

Despite the fluctuating weather patterns, it looks like the holiday weekend will end on a relatively pleasant note. Stay tuned for further updates on the changing weather conditions as we head into June.
