Byoma Skincare Acquired by Bansk Group: A New Chapter for the Viral Brand
Byoma, the skincare sensation that has taken the beauty world by storm, announced on Tuesday its acquisition by Bansk Group, the parent company behind popular hair-care brands Amika, Eva NYC, and Ethique. While the financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, Byoma has impressively generated $500 million in sales since its launch just three years ago.
Marc Elrick, Byoma’s founder and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “In Bansk, we’ve found a partner that intimately understands today’s consumer landscape and shares our values and growth ambitions.” He emphasized that the collaboration will leverage Bansk’s expertise in scaling purpose-driven consumer brands, positioning Byoma for even greater success.
Since its debut in 2022, Byoma has captured the attention of Gen Z consumers, thanks in large part to its viral presence on TikTok. The brand has become a staple in the get-ready-with-me videos of mega-influencers and has secured widespread retail distribution through major partners like Target and Ulta Beauty. Byoma’s innovative products, including its popular milky toner, have resonated with young shoppers, thanks to their appealing price points and eye-catching packaging.
Elrick highlighted the brand’s commitment to educating consumers about ingredients, aiming to guide them away from “playing chemist in their bathrooms” and towards developing safe and effective skincare regimens. This focus on ingredient education is a key part of Byoma’s strategy to connect with its core target audience—Gen Z.
The acquisition marks a significant shift in ownership, with Bansk purchasing the majority stake from private equity firm Yellow Wood Partners, which will retain a stake in Byoma’s incubator, Future Beauty Brands, as well as its self-tanning labels Tan-Luxe, Isle of Paradise, and Tanologist.
As Byoma embarks on this new journey under Bansk Group, the beauty industry watches closely, eager to see how the brand will continue to innovate and inspire in the ever-evolving landscape of skincare.
