Hairstylist to the Stars David Keough Reveals 2025’s Hottest Hair Trends and Myths Busted!
David Keough Unveils 2025’s Hottest Hairstyles and Haircare Myths
By [Your Name]
In the ever-evolving world of hair fashion, celebrity hairstylist David Keough is a trusted voice. With over three decades of experience and a clientele that includes supermodels like Miranda Kerr and Elle Macpherson, Keough recently shared his insights on the most popular hairstyles of 2025 and debunked some common haircare myths.
Speaking to nine.com.au as a John Frieda ambassador, Keough highlighted that the classic bob remains a staple in hairstyling. “I am still seeing a lot of short cheek-length bobs, and really, the bob is still very popular,” he stated. This timeless cut continues to dominate, alongside the contrasting trend of long, luxurious waves that are big and bouncy.

When it comes to choosing the right hairstyle, Keough emphasizes the importance of face shape. “That’s how I was trained to look at the individual’s face features… for example, diamond, long, round faces and then their facial features such as nose, eyes and so on,” he explained.
Supermarket Products: A Surprising Endorsement
In a surprising twist, Keough reassured consumers that they don’t need to splurge on high-end haircare products. “If you are on a budget, it is generally a lot cheaper in supermarkets and chemists,” he said. However, he advised shoppers to pay attention to ingredients, particularly when it comes to vegan, paraben-free, and sulfate-free options.
Keough particularly praised the John Frieda PROfiller+ range, which is designed to help fine hair feel thicker. “I think the best shampoo in the market at the moment is the John Frieda PROfiller+ Range, which has biotin and hyaluronic acid in its formula to create strength and softness,” he noted.

Haircare Do’s and Don’ts
Keough also shared essential haircare tips, warning against overwashing and the excessive use of heat styling tools. “Do not overwash your hair,” he cautioned, emphasizing that maintaining hair health is crucial regardless of the products used.
Reflecting on his illustrious career, Keough reminisced about his time working with Miranda Kerr. “I’ve known Miranda since she was 15 years old, and did many shoots with her here in Australia and then looked after her for eight years in the US,” he said. His impressive portfolio also includes styling for Delta Goodrem, Bebe Rexha, and Brooke Shields.
As trends continue to shift, one thing remains clear: whether you’re rocking a chic bob or cascading waves, the right hairstyle can make all the difference. For those looking to elevate their hair game, Keough’s insights are a valuable resource.
