Chicago, IL — In a concerning trend, Chicago police are alerting local businesses about a series of burglaries that have occurred this week across several neighborhoods. At least eight incidents have been reported since Sunday, with the latest occurring on Tuesday in areas including Brighton Park, the Chicago Loop, Lake View East, Edgewater, and Logan Square.
Authorities report that in each case, groups of one to five individuals, clad in black and wearing ski masks, forcibly entered businesses by shattering front glass windows or doors. Once inside, they targeted liquor bottles and ATMs, making off with significant loot.

- Brighton Park: 4300 block of South Talman Avenue, Sept. 21-22, 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- The Loop: 200 block of W Van Buren Street, Sept. 22, 1:25 a.m.
- Lake View East: 2900 block of North Sheffield Avenue, Sept. 22, 1:42 a.m.
- Edgewater: 5500 block of North Broadway, Sept. 22, 4:05 a.m.
- Logan Square: 2300 block of North California Avenue, Sept. 22, 1:56 a.m. and again on Sept. 24, 2:21 a.m.
- Brighton Park: 4200 block of South Archer Avenue, Sept. 23, at 2:25 a.m. and 2:40 a.m.
Police are urging business owners to enhance their security measures and remain vigilant. “We want to ensure that our local businesses feel safe and secure,” said a police spokesperson. “We encourage anyone who notices suspicious activity to report it immediately.”
