FOX Weather Update: July 24, 2024 – Flood Threat, Severe Storms, Geyser Explosion, Hurricane Update, and Whale Encounter
The weather in America on July 24, 2024, is making headlines across the country. From flooding in the eastern U.S. to severe storms threatening millions in the Northeast, mid-Atlantic, and Great Lakes regions, there is a lot to keep an eye on today.
In Houston, the nation’s fourth-largest city, a Flood Watch is in effect as more rounds of downpours are expected. Meanwhile, Atlanta, home to the nation’s busiest airport, is facing weather-related travel disruptions.
An explosion from a geyser in Yellowstone National Park has also captured attention, with debris flying into the air and a boardwalk being destroyed. Fortunately, no one was injured in what scientists are calling a “hydrothermal explosion.”
As hurricane season ramps up, experts are warning that the Atlantic could soon see increased activity. And in a bizarre incident off the coast of New Hampshire, a whale crashed into a boat, overturning the vessel.
