Driven Brands Appoints Mo Khalid as New COO, Promises Operational Excellence

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — August 25, 2025 — Driven Brands Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: DRVN) has announced a significant leadership change, appointing Mo Khalid as the new Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Khalid, who previously served as President of Take 5, will succeed in his new role as the company aims to enhance operational efficiency across its extensive automotive service network.

Danny Rivera, President and CEO of Driven Brands, praised Khalid’s leadership, stating, “Mo is an exceptional leader with a proven track record of success.” Under Khalid’s stewardship, Take 5 expanded to over 1,200 locations and achieved system-wide sales exceeding $1.5 billion. Rivera emphasized Khalid’s ability to strengthen operations and build a capable team through analytical rigor and disciplined execution.

Khalid re-joined Driven Brands in 2023 as Group President of the Maintenance Segment, which includes Take 5 Oil Change and Meineke. His extensive experience also includes senior roles at Great Wolf Resorts and leadership positions at major companies like Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Burger King. He holds a B.S. in Finance from Rutgers Business School and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

“I am honored to be appointed Chief Operating Officer of Driven Brands,” Khalid stated. “I look forward to working with our employees and franchisees to enhance data-driven decisions and expand margins across all our brands.”

Tim Austin, who has been with Driven Brands since 2024, will take over Khalid’s previous role as President of Take 5. Austin has a solid background, having served as President and COO of Lucid Hearing and held leadership roles at Sears Holdings and Walmart.

Driven Brands, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, is the largest automotive services company in North America, operating approximately 4,800 locations across the U.S. and 13 other countries. The company provides a wide range of services, including oil changes, vehicle repair, and car washes, generating around $2 billion in annual revenue.

As Khalid steps into his new role, the company is poised for continued growth and operational excellence, promising to leverage data-driven strategies to enhance performance across its diverse portfolio of automotive service brands.
