6 Elderly Indian Tourists Injured in Nepal Jeep Accident, Driver Arrested

In a harrowing incident in Nepal’s Chitwan district, a jeep carrying six elderly Indian tourists overturned, leaving all of them injured. The tourists, hailing from the Bendali Thana area in Mumbai, were on a jungle safari at Chitwan National Park when the accident occurred near Darai Lake at Khaireni.

The injured individuals, identified as Ramchandra Yadav, Sudesh Shanker Khadia, Pankaj Gupteshwor, Vaishali Gupteshwor, Sushmita Sudesh Khadia, and Vijaya More, are currently receiving treatment at hospitals in Bharatpur and Ratnanagar. The driver of the jeep, a Nepalese national, has been taken into custody by the police.

Chitwan National Park, known for its one-horned Rhinos and Bengal Tigers, is a popular destination for wildlife enthusiasts. The incident serves as a reminder of the risks involved in adventurous activities, especially for elderly individuals.

Meanwhile, in a separate tragic incident in Alpharetta, Georgia, three Indian students lost their lives in a car crash. Anvi Sharma, Sriya Avasarala, and Aryan Joshi, all 18 years old, were involved in a collision that resulted in critical injuries to two others. Speed is believed to have been a major factor in the accident, according to Alpharetta Police.
