Atlanta, GA — The inaugural Bronner Bros. Beauty Icon Awards lit up the city with a spectacular celebration of Black beauty, honoring its rich history, innovative spirit, and profound impact on global culture. Held at the Bronner Center of Performing Arts at Riverside EpiCenter, the star-studded evening recognized the trailblazers, creatives, and visionaries who have shaped the beauty industry through artistry, entrepreneurship, and style.
Hosted by journalist and media personality Segun Oduolowu alongside Shamea Morton of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the event was a dazzling fusion of heritage and glamour. Presented by Bronner Bros. in partnership with Vivace and Red by KISS, the evening paid homage to the icons who laid the groundwork for the beauty industry while shining a spotlight on emerging talents poised to redefine its future.
The red carpet was a canvas of creativity and flair, hosted by social personality Big Sexy, who welcomed an array of celebrities including Da Brat, Marlo Hampton, Keith D. Robinson, and Yandy Smith. Attendees showcased bold, artistic looks that celebrated individuality and self-expression, perfectly embodying the night’s theme: where timeless beauty meets modern innovation.
The show featured a captivating four-act program—The Becoming, The Revolution, Amplified, and Seen—that took the audience on a journey through the evolution of Black beauty as both art and activism. Conceptualized and creatively directed by Grammy Award-winning hairstylist Terence Davidson, the production honored ancestral roots, cultural revolutions, and the creativity that continues to propel the industry forward.
A standout moment of the evening was Terrell Carter’s soulful tribute to the legendary Teddy Pendergrass, which brought the audience to its feet in collective joy and remembrance.
