Future Fuels Inc. Initiates Permitting Process for Hornby Basin Project Exploration Activities in Nunavut

Future Fuels Inc. Launches Permitting Process for Hornby Basin Exploration

Vancouver, BC – September 8, 2025 – Future Fuels Inc. (TSXV:FTUR)(FSE:S0J) is making significant strides in its exploration efforts at the Hornby Basin Project, located approximately 95 kilometers southwest of Kugluktuk, Nunavut. The company has officially commenced the permitting process for its proposed exploration activities, marking a pivotal step in advancing its ambitious plans for the 2025 field season.

The company has submitted applications to relevant regulatory bodies, aiming to initiate ground-based geophysical surveys, geological mapping, and geochemical sampling. Notably, all initial activities will take place on Crown Land, with no plans for operations on Inuit Owned Lands at this stage.

Rob Leckie, President & CEO of Future Fuels, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “The launch of exploration permitting is an important step forward for the Hornby Basin Project. We are excited to advance our understanding of this highly prospective, district-scale land package while ensuring all activities are carried out in close collaboration with local communities and with the highest environmental standards.”

A Closer Look at the 2025 Program

The 2025 exploration program is designed to target early-stage opportunities across the Hornby Project, which spans over 3,407 square kilometers. This area is rich in potential for both uranium and copper systems, crucial elements in the global energy transition.

The initial phase will focus on a high-priority target area identified through historical data and recent geological interpretations. A ground-based gravity survey covering approximately 12 square kilometers will be conducted by two mobile field crews, supported by helicopter. These high-resolution measurements aim to detect uranium-related alteration systems and structures that may host valuable mineralization.

Pending favorable results from the geophysical program, Future Fuels plans to permit follow-up prospecting and geological mapping campaigns, which will include targeted rock, soil, and till sampling. This additional work will help prioritize targets for future drilling and validate AI-generated targets.

Commitment to Environmental Stewardship

Future Fuels is dedicated to minimizing its environmental footprint. The initial program will not require a camp facility, as personnel will mobilize daily from Kugluktuk. This approach avoids the need for water extraction, fuel caching, or land-based infrastructure.

The company has developed a comprehensive Environmental and Wildlife Management Plan to guide all field activities, ensuring minimal disturbance to local wildlife, including caribou and migratory birds. Engagement with local stakeholders, including the Kitikmeot Inuit Association and the Hamlet of Kugluktuk, is ongoing, with a commitment to open dialogue and community participation.

Looking Ahead to 2026

In parallel with the 2025 activities, Future Fuels is laying the groundwork for a proposed diamond drilling program in 2026, which would mark the first subsurface testing conducted by the company at the Hornby Project. Plans for this campaign include up to 10,000 meters of diamond core drilling focused on high-priority targets, along with the establishment of a seasonal camp and necessary logistical support.

Future Fuels has engaged Dahrouge Geological Consulting Ltd. to manage the permitting process for both current and future programs. The company anticipates completing the necessary filings for drill permitting by fall 2025, paving the way for drilling to commence in the 2026 season, subject to regulatory approvals.

As Future Fuels Inc. embarks on this exciting journey, the company remains committed to sustainable practices and fostering strong relationships with local communities, ensuring that exploration efforts benefit both the environment and the people of Nunavut.
