Glen Moray Single Malt Scotch Whisky Named Official Whisky of the Senior Open
In an exciting announcement today, Glen Moray single malt Scotch whisky has been unveiled as the new Official Whisky of the Senior Open presented by Rolex. This three-year, six-figure partnership will kick off this summer at the prestigious championship held at Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland.
From July 25th to 28th, an estimated 35,000 spectators will have the opportunity to visit Glen Moray’s whisky bar in the Championship Village. Alongside four days of world-class golf, fans can enjoy the smooth and fruity single malt whiskies served up by the Glen Moray team, including Global Brand Ambassador Iain Allan. A specially commissioned cocktail will also be available to refresh fans throughout the event.
In addition to the Senior Open, Glen Moray has also been named the official whisky of the Tartan Pro Tour, a Scottish-based development tour for male and female golfers. The tour, founded by golfing icon Paul Lawrie, will feature Glen Moray at each of its 13 Scottish golf course stops, with the distillery serving as the title sponsor of the ‘home leg’ event at Nairn Dunbar Golf Course.
Crafted in Elgin since 1897, Glen Moray is one of the UK’s top-selling single malt whiskies. The brand will support its new golf partnerships with a marketing campaign highlighting the shared Scottish roots of whisky and golf, as well as the joys of a ‘Classic Round’ of both golf and whisky.
Jamie Stewart, UK Commercial Director of Glen Moray’s parent company LMB-UK, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the shared values of golf and Scotch whisky. Edward Kitson, Championship Director at the European Tour Group, also welcomed Glen Moray to the Senior Open, noting the fitting presence of a legendary Scottish whisky at the prestigious event.
Paul Lawrie, founder of the Tartan Pro Tour, expressed gratitude for Glen Moray’s support, highlighting the brand’s backing of aspiring professional golfers. The Senior Open presented by Rolex, jointly owned by the European Tour Group and The R&A, is a highlight of the golf calendar, showcasing legends of the game on iconic UK courses.
Golf fans and whisky enthusiasts alike can look forward to experiencing the best of both worlds at the Senior Open and Tartan Pro Tour events, thanks to Glen Moray’s exciting new partnerships in the world of golf.
