Japan’s Rakuten Ranks Gravity Shampoo as Top K-Beauty Product

South Korean Startup Polyphenol Factory’s Gravity Shampoo Tops K-Beauty Category on Rakuten Japan

Tokyo, Japan – In a remarkable achievement for South Korean beauty innovation, Polyphenol Factory’s Gravity g0.0 Hair Baldify Shampoo has soared to the top of the K-beauty category on Japan’s leading online platform, Rakuten, right from its launch day. This startup, founded by researchers from KAIST, is making waves in the beauty industry with its groundbreaking product.

Since its debut in Korea in April 2022, Gravity Shampoo has sold over 1.52 million bottles, reflecting a growing demand for effective hair care solutions. The brand has reported an impressive 23.5 billion won in sales within just 15 months, thanks to its presence on various platforms including Coupang, Musin, Lotte Home Shopping, Olive Young, E-Mart, and Eastar Jet.

The launch on Rakuten was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, with all units selling out in a mere 30 minutes during its initial offering on Olive Young earlier this year. This surge in popularity has led to product shortages across multiple sales channels, highlighting the shampoo’s strong consumer appeal.

Gravity Shampoo is distinguished by its patented ingredient, “LiftMax 308,” which forms a protective barrier on hair, minimizing damage from environmental factors. Clinical trials have shown that a single use can increase hair thickness by 6.27% and improve hair volume by an astonishing 140%, while also enhancing hair tensile strength and reducing hair loss.

Following its successful online launch, Gravity Shampoo is set to expand into the Japanese offline market. Starting from the 15th of this month, it will be available in over 10 beauty editing stores across Tokyo, further solidifying its presence in the competitive beauty landscape.

Looking ahead, Polyphenol Factory aims to strengthen its position as a leading K-beauty brand by targeting European markets, including the United States and France. The company is also gearing up for participation in CES 2026, showcasing its commitment to innovation and global expansion.

As the K-beauty trend continues to captivate consumers worldwide, Polyphenol Factory’s Gravity Shampoo stands out as a testament to the power of research-driven beauty solutions, promising to reshape the hair care industry both in Asia and beyond.
