New Polls Show Tight Races in Critical Swing States
New polls conducted by Fox News in critical swing states Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina show no clear leader emerging in the upcoming elections. Among registered voters, Vice President Kamala Harris is neck and neck with former President Donald Trump in head-to-head matchups in these states.
In Arizona, Harris leads Trump by a slim margin of 50% to 49%. In Georgia and Nevada, Harris also holds a slight lead with 50% to Trump’s 48% in both states. However, in North Carolina, Trump is ahead with 50% to Harris’s 49%. The polls have an error margin of plus or minus three points, indicating a tight race in each state.
Despite Harris improving on President Joe Biden’s showing against Trump in previous Fox polling, she still lags behind Trump in all four states when it comes to being trusted to handle the economy. The economy remains a top issue for voters in each state.
When asked about which candidate would do a better job at “fighting for people like you” or “bringing needed change,” Harris has the edge in some states. However, the two candidates are nearly even in each state on who would bring needed change.
Additionally, the polls show Democratic Senate candidates leading Republicans in both Arizona and Nevada. Incumbent Democrat Jacky Rosen leads Republican Sam Brown in Nevada, while Democrat Ruben Gallego tops Republican Kari Lake in Arizona.
The surveys were conducted from August 23 through 26 among roughly 1,000 voters in each state, both by telephone and online. With no clear leader emerging in these critical swing states, the upcoming elections are sure to be closely watched and highly contested.
