Meghan Markle’s ‘Major Condition’ for Prince Harry’s Return to the UK: Royal Expert Claims

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has reportedly set one “major condition” for her husband, Prince Harry, if she is to return to the UK after four years of living in the United States. According to royal expert Tom Quinn, Meghan has made it clear that she will only come back to England if she and Harry have their own place to stay and the necessary security measures in place.

Since the couple stepped down from their roles as senior working royals in 2020 and moved to California, they have rarely visited the UK. Meghan was last seen at the late Queen’s funeral in 2022. The couple’s decision to leave the UK was met with mixed reactions, and now it seems that Meghan is adamant about having a sense of security and independence if they were to return.

Tom Quinn shared with The Mirror, “Meghan has said she’s only prepared to return to England if she and Harry have a place of their own and the security they both feel is essential. Meghan will never return to the UK and stay with her husband‘s relatives.”

The couple’s living situation and security have been a point of contention since they left the UK. They lost full taxpayer-funded police protection when they stepped down as senior working royals, and were evicted from Frogmore Cottage last June, leaving them without a residence in the UK.

If Meghan’s condition is met, it is believed that the couple would want to bring their children, Archie and Lili, to the UK to develop a relationship with their cousins, George, Charlotte, and Louis. However, it may take some diplomatic efforts to ensure a smooth transition back to the UK for the Sussex family.

Prince Harry recently won the right to take his case to the Appeal Court against the High Court’s decision regarding the level of protection he and his family receive in Britain. The couple’s return to the UK could potentially mark a new chapter in their lives, but only if Meghan’s conditions are met.
