Despite this growth, six businesses have closed in the downtown area, including four retail businesses and two restaurants. However, the Downtown Missoula Partnership remains optimistic about the future, with several spaces undergoing renovations and new businesses expected to open before the end of 2024.
In other business news, Clearwater Credit Union, the second-largest credit union in Montana, has announced the launch of a new Clean Energy Certificate of Deposit, making it the first financial institution in Montana to offer such a savings product. Lastly, Billings Clinic and Community Medical Center have completed the first successful patient transport in Montana using a mobile extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) program.
