Community Smiles Dental Names Scott Marshall as New CEO, Renee Ramirez Announces Retirement

In a significant announcement, Community Smiles Dental, a nonprofit organization serving the greater Milwaukee area, has named Scott Marshall as its new chief executive officer. This decision comes as Renee Ramirez, the current CEO, shared her plans to retire after 17 years of dedicated service to the organization.

Ramirez expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to positively impact the health of thousands of individuals in the community, especially children, pregnant women, and individuals with special needs who lacked access to dental care. Under her leadership, Community Smiles Dental has served over 30,000 patients and expanded its services to include two nonprofit dental clinics.

As Ramirez transitions into retirement, she will continue to support Marshall and the organization in an advisory capacity. Marshall, who will assume the role of CEO in June, brings with him a wealth of experience and a passion for serving the community and its patients.

Karin Kultgen, M.D., the board chair of Community Smiles Dental, commended Ramirez for her vision and leadership over the years and expressed confidence in Marshall’s ability to lead the organization into the future. Since its establishment in 2008, the Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic, now known as Community Smiles Dental, has been a vital resource for low-income families in need of quality and affordable dental care.

With the addition of a second clinic in Menomonee Falls in 2018, Community Smiles Dental has expanded its reach to serve communities across Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, and Waukesha counties. Ramirez reflected on the organization’s accomplishments over the years, highlighting its commitment to providing affordable dental care to those in need.

Marshall shared his excitement about joining Community Smiles Dental and working alongside dedicated partners, donors, staff, and volunteers to further the organization’s mission of providing compassionate dental care to underserved populations. As the organization looks towards a new chapter under Marshall’s leadership, the community can expect continued excellence in dental care and service delivery.
