Dubbed “beauty parlor stroke syndrome,” this phenomenon highlights a rare but serious risk, particularly for women.

Researchers found that hyperextension of the neck while leaning back into a washing bowl can, in rare cases, disrupt blood circulation to the brain, potentially leading to a stroke.
