Tank Reflects on Firing from Fat Joe’s Rewind It 10 Campaign: “I Might Just Pull Up!”
Tank Talks Firing from Fat Joe’s Rewind It 10 Campaign: “I Want to Pull Up!”
In a surprising twist of events, R&B singer Tank has opened up about his recent firing from Fat Joe’s Rewind It 10 hair care campaign, sharing his frustrations and a touch of humor during an appearance on The Breakfast Club.
The singer, who co-founded the brand with his wife, Carolyn Aronson, recounted the moment he realized something was amiss. “One day, I was asking to change my picture because the picture on the box looks like they put a crackhead filter on me,” Tank said, recalling his request to Fat Joe. “I said, ‘Joe, that’s not how I look. I never look like that. Somebody hated on me. Can you please change the picture?'”
Despite assurances from Fat Joe that the image would be updated, Tank found himself waiting for months without any changes. His frustration grew, leading him to confront Joe directly. “Finally, I’m like, ‘Joe, this is getting disrespectful,'” he explained. Shortly after, he received a letter stating that his contract would not be renewed, leaving him bewildered. “Look at how they did me,” he lamented.
In a twist of fate, Tank claims he was replaced by rapper N.O.R.E. after his departure. “So I think they kicked me out and brought N.O.R.E. in,” he said, adding that he hadn’t heard from Fat Joe since the firing. While in New York for Alicia Keys’ Broadway musical Hell’s Kitchen, Tank joked about wanting to “pull up on” Joe to discuss the situation.
DJ Envy, a co-host of the show, mentioned that he had informed Fat Joe about Tank’s visit to the station, but the rapper had yet to receive a response. “He ain’t hit me back since the firing,” Tank noted, highlighting the apparent rift between him and the Terror Squad head honcho.
In a surprising turn, Fat Joe took to the comments section of The Breakfast Club‘s Instagram post, claiming that Tank was the one who had sent him the picture used on the box. Tank quickly fired back, dubbing Joe “Captain Cap” and asserting, “Don’t do this! You know I have receipts.”
As the story unfolds, fans are left wondering how this public feud will play out and whether Tank will indeed “pull up” on Fat Joe. One thing is for sure: the drama surrounding the Rewind It 10 campaign is far from over.
