US man with suspended license attends court hearing via Zoom while driving, leading to unexpected consequences

Man with Suspended Licence Appears in Zoom Court Hearing While Driving – Judge’s Reaction is Priceless

A man in the United States found himself in hot water after attending a Zoom court hearing while driving with a suspended license. Corey Harris, 44, appeared online for his court hearing related to charges from an earlier arrest in Pittsfield Township, Washtenaw County, while behind the wheel.

The judge, J Cedric Simpson, was shocked to see Harris driving during the hearing and immediately revoked his bond. Simpson ordered Harris to surrender at Washtenaw County Jail by 6 pm that evening, warning that a bench warrant would be issued against him without bond if he failed to comply.

A video of the court hearing has since gone viral, showing the moment when Judge Simpson questioned Harris about his driving. Despite initially claiming to be parking at his doctor’s office, Harris eventually admitted to driving while on the call.

The judge expressed disbelief at Harris’ actions, stating, “I don’t even know why he would do that.” Harris, realizing his mistake, reacted with a shocked expression as his bond was revoked. He was later released from custody after spending two days in jail, with the next court hearing scheduled for June 5.

The incident serves as a cautionary tale about the consequences of irresponsible behavior, even in the age of virtual court hearings. Harris’ decision to drive during the hearing not only landed him in legal trouble but also garnered widespread attention online.
