Israel responds to the viral ‘all eyes on Rafah’ trend: Where were your eyes on October 7?

Israel Retaliates with ‘Where were your eyes’ Image Amid Global Criticism

Israel Claps Back with ‘Where were your eyes’ Image in Response to Global Criticism

After facing immense backlash for its air strikes in Rafah, Israel has retaliated by sharing its own image titled ‘Where were your eyes’, questioning why people did not post about the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7. This move comes after celebrities, public figures, and numerous social media users shared the AI-generated ‘All eyes on Rafah’ image to shed light on Israel’s actions in the war-torn Gaza city.

The Israeli air strike, which was aimed at targeting Hamas, tragically resulted in the deaths of at least 45 civilians, including children, at a refugee camp in Rafah. This incident has sparked global outrage, with Israel denying allegations of intentionally targeting the camp and instead attributing the damage to a secondary fire caused by a rocket hitting a Hamas weapons facility.

In response, Tel Aviv shared an image highlighting the attack on October 7, which claimed the lives of approximately 1,160 people in Israel, predominantly civilians. The militants also took around 250 hostages, some of whom were released during a temporary ceasefire in November. Israel claims that 99 hostages are still held by the militants, while 31 have tragically lost their lives.

The ongoing military campaign by Israel to dismantle Hamas has resulted in a devastating toll, with at least 31,112 lives lost, according to the health ministry in Hamas-controlled Gaza.

The image shared by the Israeli government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, features a Hamas militant standing in front of a baby with the text “Where were your eyes on October 7”. This response was prompted by the widespread circulation of the ‘All eyes on Rafah’ image, which garnered nearly 44 million shares on Instagram, depicting the plight of Palestinians seeking refuge during the conflict.

Notably, several Indian celebrities also joined the conversation by sharing the ‘All eyes on Rafah’ image on their social media platforms, further amplifying the global discourse surrounding the ongoing conflict in the region.
