Patanjali Foods Slashes Prices Ahead of GST Reform
New Delhi, India – September 21, 2025 (ANI): In a bold move to align with the Government of India’s recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) simplification, Patanjali Foods Limited has announced a sweeping reduction in the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) across its entire product range. This initiative aims to ensure that consumers benefit fully from the revised tax structure, which is set to take effect on September 22.
The price cuts encompass both food and non-food categories, with notable reductions in popular items. For instance, the Nutrela soya range has seen a significant drop, with 1 kg packs of Chunks, Mini Chunks, and Granules now priced at Rs 190, down from Rs 210. Smaller packs have also been adjusted, with 200 g offerings reduced from Rs 50 to Rs 47.
In the biscuits and cookies segment, consumers can now purchase Doodh Biscuit (35g) for Rs 4.50 and Marie Biscuit (225g) for Rs 27, a decrease from Rs 30. Additionally, Patanjali’s Twisty Tasty Noodles (50g) will be available for Rs 9.35, down from Rs 10.00, while Atta Noodles Chatpata (60g) will now retail at Rs 11.25, reduced from Rs 12.
The price adjustments extend to health and wellness products as well. Dant Kanti Natural (200g) is now priced at Rs 106, down from Rs 120, and Kesh Kanti hair care products have seen reductions to between Rs 89 and Rs 106. Juices like Amla and Giloy are now cheaper by Rs 6 to Rs 10, and Cow’s Ghee (900ml) has been reduced to Rs 731 from Rs 780. Body cleansers such as Neem Kanti (75g) now retail at Rs 22, down from Rs 25.
Patanjali Foods emphasized that this price reduction reflects its commitment to providing affordable, high-quality, and natural products to Indian consumers. The company also supports the government’s mission of making nutrition and healthcare more accessible.
The recent GST reform, approved during the 56th meeting of the GST Council, will replace the current four-rate system with a streamlined two-slab regime of 5% and 18%, while retaining a separate 40% slab for luxury and sin goods. Prime Minister Narendra Modi heralded these changes as a significant step towards the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, aimed at bolstering self-reliance in the Indian economy.
As consumers eagerly await the implementation of these reforms, Patanjali’s proactive pricing strategy is sure to resonate well, making essential products more accessible to millions across the nation.
