Croda Enhances Odor Technology Portfolio with Biodegradable Air Care Ingredient

Croda Launches Biodegradable NutraFresh BD: A Sustainable Solution for Odor Neutralization in Home Care Products

Croda Launches Biodegradable Odor-Neutralizing Technology to Meet Consumer Demand for Sustainability

In a significant step towards eco-friendly home care solutions, Croda has unveiled NutraFresh BD, a biodegradable version of its highly effective odor-neutralizing technology. This innovative product expands the NutraFresh range, promising the same level of odor reduction while aligning with the growing consumer demand for sustainable and environmentally responsible products.

Aude Lemoine-Dessaint, marketing manager at Croda Home Care, emphasized the importance of this launch, stating, “With this new version, we’re helping our customers create products that are as kind to the planet as they are effective in the home.” She noted that today’s consumers are increasingly seeking clean, sustainable solutions that do not compromise on performance.

NutraFresh BD targets and neutralizes the odor molecules responsible for unpleasant smells, boasting an impressive average reduction of 89% in malodors, as confirmed by independent gas chromatography testing. The testing covered a wide range of odors, including those from smoking, pets, sweat, cooking, and bathrooms.

Versatile in its applications, NutraFresh BD is suitable for laundry detergents, air fresheners, surface cleaners, and dishwashing products. Croda claims that the product can prevent odor build-up in fabrics for up to five days, making it a valuable addition to any household cleaning arsenal. “With a neutral olfactory profile, it allows transparent formulations and leaves no residue, simplifying formulation work for manufacturers,” the company stated.

In addition to NutraFresh BD, Croda has also made strides in the hair care sector with its ingredient KeraBio K31, which has shown full efficacy at a mere 0.05% active inclusion. This breakthrough allows for more environmentally friendly formulations without sacrificing performance, effectively recharging hair’s keratin at a molecular level.

Moreover, Croda has gained approval for its innovative cosmetic ingredient Clean Oil 25, an alternative to palm oil derived from fermented food waste. Developed in collaboration with Clean Food Group and The Hut Group, this ingredient is now approved for use in the UK, US, and Europe, further solidifying Croda’s commitment to sustainability.

As consumers continue to prioritize eco-friendly products, Croda’s NutraFresh BD and other sustainable innovations position the company at the forefront of the green revolution in home care and personal care industries. With a focus on performance and environmental responsibility, Croda is paving the way for a cleaner, greener future.
