In a buzzworthy turn of events, Martin Kemp, the iconic Spandau Ballet star, appears to be gearing up for a stint in the Australian jungle as part of this year’s highly anticipated series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Earlier this month, The Mirror reported that the 64-year-old musician was in “advanced talks” with ITV regarding his participation in the show, which is set to launch on November 16. Now, Kemp seems to have confirmed the speculation, much to the excitement of fans.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Fubar nightclub in Stirling announced that Kemp would not be appearing at their event on Saturday, November 8, due to a “major TV commitment.” The club’s team hinted at his jungle journey with playful TV and jungle-themed emojis, leaving fans buzzing with anticipation.
“Hey everyone, we’ve just had word that Martin Kemp won’t be able to join us this Saturday as planned. He’s been called away for a major TV commitment (you’ll no doubt see it all over the telly very soon),” the club wrote, expressing their disappointment while also confirming a rescheduled date for Kemp’s appearance next summer.
The Fubar team reassured ticket holders that they could either roll over their tickets to the new date of June 13, 2026, or opt for a hassle-free refund. “Just to be totally clear, this wasn’t a venue decision. It’s out of our control due to TV commitments,” they clarified.
While neither Kemp nor ITV has officially confirmed his participation in the show, the signs are pointing towards a jungle adventure for the beloved musician. If he does join the cast, he will follow in the footsteps of his son, Roman Kemp, who finished third in the 2019 series. Additionally, Kemp’s Spandau Ballet bandmate Tony Hadley made his own jungle debut in 2015.
