Amcor Unveils Innovative Lightweight Roll-On Deodorant Packaging
Global packaging leader Amcor has launched its latest innovation in personal care solutions: the Shadow roll-on deodorant packaging. This new offering not only emphasizes sustainability but also caters to the evolving preferences of consumers.
In a significant move towards eco-friendly packaging, Amcor has introduced the Shadow roll-on, touted as one of the lightest-weight roll-ons in its product line. By reducing the amount of plastic used in its manufacturing process, the company aims to lessen its environmental footprint. Notably, the bottle and cap can be crafted from up to 60% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, making it a more sustainable choice for consumers.
Lara Alemany, product line director of Amcor Global Rigids Packaging Solutions, highlighted the delicate balance required in packaging for the beauty sector. “Packaging solutions for the beauty sector must balance aesthetics, functionality, and improved sustainability. The Shadow roll-on demonstrates our expertise in developing robust solutions that can be easily adapted in line with the latest consumer trends,” Alemany stated.
The Shadow roll-on features a unique rounded base design that ensures a strong presence on retail shelves. Additionally, Amcor offers customization options for the deodorant packs, allowing brands to tailor colors and labels to their specific needs. Alemany emphasized the company’s capability to support customers across Europe, stating, “With our many manufacturing sites and ability to supply both large and small orders, we are ideally placed to support customers throughout Europe.”
Amcor’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond the Shadow roll-on. The company boasts nearly 40 different deodorant packaging solutions, including a variety of sticks and roll-ons ranging from 10 mL to 100 mL, designed to meet diverse consumer demands.
Expanding Personal Care Solutions
Amcor is not just stopping at deodorant packaging. The company has been actively expanding its portfolio in the personal care sector. Recently, it partnered with Cut by Fred, a French hair care brand, to provide its Exclusive refill technology for the Detox Stick Shampoo. This innovative solution is fully recyclable and made entirely from polypropylene (PP), with the original 75 mL container weighing just 55 grams and each refill at 18 grams.
In July, Amcor collaborated with luxury cosmetics brand Maison Guerlain to develop packaging for its new Aqua Allegoria hand creams, utilizing the company’s CleanStream PCR polymer. Furthermore, Amcor equipped Slovenia-based Mediacor with a recyclable and refillable stand-up pouch for its cleaning care brand, Nana.
As consumer preferences shift towards sustainable and customizable options, Amcor continues to lead the charge in responsible packaging solutions, ensuring that beauty and personal care brands can meet the demands of today’s eco-conscious consumers.
