Amun Organics: Discover Your New Hair Care Ritual

Transforming Your Shower into a Spiritual Ritual: The Amun Organics Journey with Founders Sophia Tullio and Sarah Chiles

Amun Organics: Transforming Daily Routines into Spiritual Rituals

By Jenna Lebovits

In a world where self-care often feels like just another task on a never-ending to-do list, Amun Organics is redefining the daily shower experience. Co-founder Sophia Tullio believes that this everyday ritual can transcend routine and become a spiritual practice. “As you’re using Amun in water, a powerful conductor, it rinses the blessing through your hair and body, conferring health and abundant nutrients,” she explains. The name “Amun,” she notes, is thought to be the sacred root of the word “amen,” linking it to ancient blessings.

Tullio elaborates, “In ancient Egypt, before Christianity and Judaism adopted ‘Amen,’ it’s believed that the Egyptians used to say ‘Amun’ as their blessing.” This connection to history and spirituality is central to Amun Organics, which aims to serve as “a blessing from the Earth, the ancients, and the divine.”

The seeds for Amun were sown during the parallel health journeys of Tullio and her best friend and co-founder, Sarah Chiles. Both women battled chronic illnesses that made them hypersensitive to synthetic fragrances and chemicals. “We both lost tremendous amounts of hair,” Tullio recalls. This shared experience ignited a passion for creating a clean, organic hair care line that prioritizes personal health.

Tullio credits her father, Michael Tullio, founder of Aspen’s Salon Tullio, for guiding her in this venture. “He was instrumental in helping develop Amun,” she says, emphasizing the importance of bridging holistic health with modern beauty. Growing up in a salon environment, Tullio witnessed firsthand the transformative power of beauty. “People would walk in and out, and it immediately transformed their spirit and mood,” she reflects.

Determined to create a professional hair care line free from harmful ingredients, Tullio and Chiles focused on eliminating parabens, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances. “What you put on your hair should be as healthy as what you put in your body,” Tullio asserts, highlighting the irony that beauty often comes at a cost.

Tullio’s quest for natural healing took her on pilgrimages across continents, including a transformative 40-day journey in Egypt and four months in India. “They were very in touch with the laws of nature and lived in harmony with our beautiful planet,” she shares, drawing inspiration from these ancient practices.

Amun Organics features five tallow-based skin and hair care products, all sourced from certified organic farms in Canada. Tallow, rich in vitamins and fatty acids, is noted for its compatibility with human hair and skin. “When it comes to hair follicles, it has the ability to penetrate at the deepest level,” Tullio explains, emphasizing its sustainability as a byproduct of the farming industry.

Among her favorites are the Regenerative Shampoo and Leave-In Conditioner, which she credits with restoring her hair’s vitality. “It acts as a nutritional supplement for the hair, bringing life back to your strands, increasing shine, and promoting hair growth,” she says.

For Tullio, daily rituals of meditation, chanting mantras, and blessings are integral to her life. “I often think of Amun as a blessing,” she concludes. “For the day and for each time you use it.”

With Amun Organics, Tullio and Chiles invite everyone to transform their daily routines into moments of connection, health, and beauty. For more information, visit amunorganics.com.
