Injury Updates and Notes from Seattle Seahawks Minicamp
The Seattle Seahawks have kicked off their three-day mandatory minicamp with some injury-related news and notes. Despite a few key players being sidelined, all injured players were in attendance for the camp.
Starting right tackle Abraham Lucas, who missed a significant portion of last season due to a knee injury, is still rehabbing from January knee surgery. Head coach Mike Macdonald expressed optimism about Lucas’s progress, aiming for a return by training camp in late July.
Right guard Anthony Bradford, who started 10 games as a rookie last season, is also out after tweaking his ankle during OTA practice in May. Projected starting inside linebackers Jerome Baker and Tyrel Dodson are both dealing with injuries, with hopes of returning by training camp.
Second-year nose tackle Cameron Young was absent from practice due to a lower-body injury, but Macdonald mentioned they will evaluate him early in camp. Meanwhile, veteran punter Michael Dickson was missing from practice as he is getting married in Hawaii.
With key players out, the Seahawks’ first-team offensive line featured some new faces, including Charles Cross at left tackle and Laken Tomlinson at left guard. In the absence of Baker and Dodson, Jon Rhattigan and Patrick O’Connell have been stepping up at middle linebacker.
Despite the challenges posed by injuries, the Seahawks are pushing forward with their preparations for the upcoming season. Stay tuned for more updates on the team as they continue their offseason activities.
