Designed to be the ultimate offshore explorer, the Offshore 44 boasts ample onboard space, stability, and seaworthiness, all while breaking the mold of traditional power cats. Koegelenberg’s vision was to create a vessel that combines the aesthetics of a monohull with the functionality of a bowrider, featuring full aluminum construction and opulent interiors.
Collaborating with experienced yachtsman and naval architect Shaun Phelps of Periscope Naval Architects and superyacht specialist Misha Merzliakov, Koegelenberg refined the design over 12 months. The Offshore 44 was constructed at the Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard, a hub for over 90 marine services and trades.
Before its official launch, the Offshore 44 caught the eye of an owner seeking a support vessel for a unique 52-metre explorer superyacht. Now named “Jewel,” the Offshore 44 weighs in at 11 tonnes, or 12.5 tonnes when fully equipped, and is performing exceptionally well alongside its mothership, cruising the South Pacific.
“The X-Plorer Offshore 44 is an impressive-looking, solid platform for all the water toys and gear you could wish to carry to a dive site, fishing location, or island hopping with up to 20 guests,” Koegelenberg adds. “It’s completely up to the owner how their X-Plorer is configured.”
