FBI confirms Trump was shot in assassination attempt

FBI Confirms Donald Trump Hit by Bullet at Pennsylvania Rally, Investigation Continues

Former President Donald Trump was struck by a bullet, or a fragment from one, fired by an assassin at his Pennsylvania rally earlier this month, the FBI confirmed on Friday. The bureau stated that the bullet, whether whole or fragmented, came from the deceased subject’s rifle and hit Trump in the ear.

This confirmation comes after previous uncertainty from law enforcement officials about whether Trump was hit by a bullet or shrapnel. FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before Congress earlier this week, stating that there was some question about the nature of the projectile that hit Trump’s ear.

Trump himself has been vocal about the incident, claiming on his social media platform that he was hit by an intact bullet and criticizing the FBI for their handling of the investigation. His campaign has pushed back on any implication that Trump was not hit by a bullet, calling it “conspiracy bullsh*t.”

The FBI is now seeking to interview Trump as part of their investigation into the assassination attempt. They continue to examine bullet fragments and other evidence from the attack, reaffirming that it was an attempted assassination of the former president.

During a House Judiciary hearing, Wray shared new details about the would-be assassin, including his search history and activities leading up to the rally. Despite criticism from some Republicans about the FBI’s conclusions, Wray was commended by representatives from both sides of the aisle for his transparency in the investigation.

The FBI stated that they are devoting significant resources to the ongoing investigation of the attack, which resulted in Trump’s injury, the death of the assailant, and injuries to other victims. The agency remains steadfast in their assertion that the shooting was an attempted assassination of the former president.
