Injuries Impact ASU Roster Ahead of Season Opener Against Wyoming
Arizona State football is gearing up for their 2024 season opener against Wyoming, but they will be missing some key players due to injuries. Coach Kenny Dillingham provided an update on the injured players, including defensive lineman Prince Dorbah, offensive lineman Sean Na’a, running back Raleek Brown, and linebacker Tate Romney.
Dorbah and Na’a are both recovering from surgeries and are expected to miss two to four weeks. Brown is dealing with a hamstring injury and is at around 90% recovery, while Romney has a broken arm and will likely be out for four to six weeks. These injuries come after a tough 2023 season where 31 players missed time due to injuries.
Despite the setbacks, Dillingham remains optimistic about the team’s depth and is confident in the players stepping up to fill the void. Elijah O’Neal is expected to see more playing time in place of Dorbah, while the running back room is considered one of the deepest on the team.
The Sun Devils are entering their inaugural season in the Big 12 conference and are 6.5-point favorites against Wyoming. Dillingham highlighted the challenges of preparing for a new coaching staff at Wyoming, led by head coach Jay Sawvel.
Overall, Dillingham is focused on staying ahead of the curve and adapting to any changes the opposing team may bring. Despite the injuries, he is hopeful for a successful start to the season.
