Kamala Harris Announces Simon & Schuster Book Deal Covering Her 107-Day Campaign

Kamala Harris Unveils New Memoir “107 Days” Following Presidential Campaign and Declines California Governor Run

Kamala Harris Unveils New Memoir After Declining California Governor Bid

Los Angeles, CA — Just a day after announcing her decision not to run for California governor, Kamala Harris has launched her new memoir, 107 Days, offering a candid look at her brief yet intense presidential campaign in 2024. The book, set to be published by Simon & Schuster on September 23, promises to provide readers with an insider’s perspective on the shortest presidential campaign in modern history.

In a heartfelt video announcement, Harris reflected on her time in the political spotlight, stating, “Since leaving office, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on those days, talking to my family, my friends, and pulling my thoughts together. In essence, writing a journal that is this book.” She emphasized the importance of sharing her experiences, saying, “I believe there’s value in sharing what I saw, what I learned, and what I know it will take to move forward.”

Harris will kick off her media tour with an appearance on CBS’s The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, marking her first interview since her election loss. This choice is particularly poignant, as the show faces potential cancellation amid a shifting late-night landscape, following CBS’s recent merger with Skydance.

The former vice president has maintained a relatively low profile since leaving office in January, as the Biden administration transitioned to Donald Trump’s team. Earlier this year, she signed with Creative Artists Agency, signaling a shift towards speaking engagements and publishing opportunities, similar to her former boss, Joe Biden.

Harris’s decision not to enter the governor’s race has left many speculating about her future political ambitions. Despite being seen as a frontrunner for the position, she ultimately chose to focus on her national aspirations. In her statement on July 30, she expressed her love for California, saying, “I love this state, its people, and its promise. It is my home. But after deep reflection, I’ve decided that I will not run for Governor in this election.”

This memoir marks Harris’s third book, following Smart on Crime: A Career Prosecutor’s Plan to Make Us Safer and The Truths We Hold: An American Journey. As she prepares to share her story, many are eager to see how her experiences will shape her future in American politics.

With 107 Days, Harris aims not only to recount her journey but also to inspire others as she navigates the complexities of political life in a rapidly changing landscape.
