New York City — Country music sensation Kelsea Ballerini is stepping into a well-deserved break after a whirlwind tour, and she’s ready to share her secrets to maintaining fabulous hair along the way. The Grammy-winning artist recently opened up about her haircare routine while promoting her partnership with Pantene, specifically the brand’s Miracle Rescue Collection.

After wrapping up her “Kelsea Ballerini Live on Tour,” the 31-year-old singer is taking time to reflect and rejuvenate before heading to Australia for more performances in December. “This is the biggest break I’ve had in a while, and it’s interesting, it kind of takes a minute to settle into,” she told PEOPLE during a recent interview.

Ballerini, who made her debut on The Voice earlier this year, is focusing on her hair health, a priority she emphasizes as she navigates the demands of touring. “I’m trying to just really focus on keeping my hair health up to speed,” she said, highlighting her use of Pantene’s Miracle Rescue Regenerative Hair Oil and 3-in-1 Rinse-Off Conditioner.

The launch of the “Fixins for Country Fried Hair” campaign coincides with her commitment to hair care, which she began last December. “I knew that we were gearing up to really go through it with hair,” she explained. “So I was like, ‘Okay, how do we game plan this where I can still keep my hair intact and healthy?'”

Ballerini’s routine during her tour involved nightly applications of hair oil, braiding her hair, and donning a wig for performances. “Every night we would put in the oil and we’d braid my hair back. Pop the wig on, do the show, pop the wig off, brush through the oil, sleep in it, and then wash it the next day,” she shared.

In addition to her haircare regimen, Ballerini values the friendships she’s built in the industry, particularly with fellow country artist Carly Pearce. “Carly and I probably talk the most often,” she said, noting their discussions range from life and love to beauty tips. “When girls get together, especially touring musicians, it’s like, ‘How do we look like we’ve slept better?'”

Ballerini also revealed her playful side, likening her wig experience to that of Hannah Montana, saying, “I felt like Hannah Montana. For sure.” She emphasized the importance of being open about her wig use, stating it allows her to protect her natural hair while having fun with her look.

As she enjoys her downtime, Ballerini is also planning a girls’ trip to Paris, a spontaneous getaway that has become a highlight of her summer. “It was just the best time,” she reminisced, capturing the essence of friendship and adventure.
