Local Piercing Studio Celebrates Three Years of Success and Community Impact

AMMON, ID – What started as a simple Instagram post about a piercing party has blossomed into a thriving business for Lorin Parkinson, owner of Get Pierced Co. Located at 1615 Market Way, the studio is celebrating its third anniversary, marking a significant milestone in the eastern Idaho business scene.

Get Pierced Co. specializes in hollow needle piercing services for ears and nostrils, setting itself apart by prioritizing safety and hygiene. “Using a needle, which is the gold standard in piercing, minimizes trauma to the tissue and promotes better healing,” Parkinson explained. The studio also offers a range of jewelry, including customized flatback earring studs, which have become a signature product.

Parkinson’s journey into the world of piercing and jewelry began in her teenage years in Rigby, where she developed a passion for earrings and body art. After working as a dental hygienist, she decided to pivot her career after discovering the potential for a piercing studio in her community. “I saw a need and thought it would be fun to bring something like this to eastern Idaho,” she recalled.

In addition to its piercing services, Get Pierced Co. has expanded into e-commerce, launching an online jewelry store in 2023. Parkinson is excited about the upcoming seasonal collection, “Into the Wild,” featuring designs inspired by local nature, including the Grand Tetons and grizzly bears.

But the business isn’t just about profits. Earlier this year, Parkinson launched a nonprofit initiative called Get Pierced for a Purpose, which donates 100% of proceeds from one day every other month to local individuals in need. The nonprofit recently awarded $20,000 to Laura Eves, a friend and former colleague who faced hardships after the passing of her husband.

“Her generosity meant a lot to me and my kids,” Eves expressed, highlighting the profound impact of Parkinson’s initiative.

As Get Pierced Co. continues to grow, Parkinson is grateful for the community’s support and is on track to quadruple sales compared to last year. The studio operates by appointment, inviting new customers to experience its unique offerings.
