Local Entrepreneur Shines on “The Blox” and Expands Beauty Empire

Noblesville, IN – Sheriann Jacques, the dynamic founder of Beauty by Sheriann Hair Studio and Bare Canvas by Sheriann Hair Care, has made waves in the entrepreneurial world after participating in Season 18 of the hit television show “The Blox.” Filmed in August 2024, the season is currently available for streaming on Prime Video, the BetaBlox mobile app, and as a Facebook series.

Jacques, who has been a hairstylist for over two decades, opened her Noblesville salon in November 2023 after earning her license 11 years ago. She specializes in silk presses, extensions, custom color, and scalp health treatments tailored for multicultural hair textures. Her passion for hair care led her to launch her own product line, Bare Canvas, in February 2023.

“I’m just a one-woman show,” Jacques said. “I went on ‘The Blox’ to gain exposure and learn more about running my business.”

During her time on the show, Jacques competed against 110 entrepreneurs, ranging from established business owners to those just starting out. Although she didn’t secure a top-three finish, she found the experience invaluable.

“I learned a lot from the daily competitions,” Jacques reflected. “It was an educational experience that helped me refine my brand and improve my skills.”

Since filming, Jacques has seen significant growth in her business, reporting a 57% increase in earnings compared to the previous year. She attributes this success to the lessons learned on “The Blox,” which have enhanced her networking abilities and client communication.

In addition to her salon, Jacques is also an author, having published two self-help books, “Crowning Glory” and “No Elevators Allowed,” available on Amazon. She is now launching the Maison De Lilly Beauty Academy, a registered apprenticeship program that offers students extensive training in beauty education.

The program will provide 460 hours of paid classroom instruction and 1,580 hours of hands-on salon training, along with a full student kit, exam prep, customer service training, and financial literacy coaching.
