Patanjali Slashes Prices on Wide Range of Products Ahead of GST Reforms

New Delhi – In a significant move aimed at making its products more accessible, Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Foods Limited has announced a sweeping price reduction across its entire product line. This price cut, which affects both food and non-food items, comes just as India gears up for its next-generation Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms set to take effect on September 22.

The new GST structure will simplify the current four-rate system into two slabs of 5% and 18%, while maintaining a special 40% rate for luxury and sin goods. In light of these changes, Patanjali’s decision to lower prices is seen as a strategic effort to attract more consumers.

Nutrela Soya Range Takes the Lead

Among the most notable reductions is the Nutrela soya range, which has seen a price drop from ₹210 to ₹190 for 1kg packs. The smaller 200g packs have also been reduced from ₹50 to ₹47. This move is expected to benefit health-conscious consumers looking for affordable protein options.

Personal Care Products Get Cheaper

Patanjali is not just focusing on food items; personal care products have also seen significant price cuts. The Twisty Tasty Noodles (50g) now cost ₹9.35, down from ₹10, while the Atta Noodles Chatpata (60g) is now priced at ₹11.25, reduced from ₹12. In the dental care segment, Dant Kanti Natural toothpaste (200g) has dropped to ₹106 from ₹120, and the Kesh Kanti hair care range is now available for between ₹89 and ₹106.

Juices and Ghee Prices Fall

Health products like Amla and Giloy juices have also become more affordable, with prices slashed by ₹6-10 per bottle. Additionally, Cow’s Ghee (900ml) has seen a reduction from ₹780 to ₹731. In the soaps and cleansers category, Neem Kanti (75g) is now priced at ₹22, down from ₹25.

These price cuts reflect Patanjali’s commitment to providing quality natural products at more affordable rates, making them accessible to a broader audience. As consumers prepare for the upcoming GST changes, Patanjali’s strategic pricing could position the brand favorably in a competitive market.

With these adjustments, Patanjali aims not only to enhance its market share but also to reinforce its mission of promoting health and wellness through natural products.
