Reviving Ivy’s Dream: The Hair Affair

Empowering Natural Beauty: Ivy Rumbidzayi Murove’s Touch ‘n’ Nourish Relaunch

Young Entrepreneur Ivy Murove Relaunches Touch ‘n’ Nourish with a Vision for Empowerment

Harare, Zimbabwe – At just 21, Ivy Rumbidzayi Murove embarked on a journey to redefine beauty standards for women with her first line of hair care products. Now, five years later, the 26-year-old entrepreneur is set to unveil an expanded vision for her brand, Touch ‘n’ Nourish, at “The Hair Affair: Fixing a Sister’s Crown” on August 9, 2025.

The highly anticipated event will take place at The Sterling Hub in Eastlea, Harare, from 12 PM to 4 PM. Attendees can look forward to a day filled with beauty, empowerment, and self-care, featuring live product demonstrations, inspiring speakers, and the official launch of Touch ‘n’ Nourish’s new product range.

“The Hair Affair is more than just an event,” Murove explains. “It’s a celebration of culture, confidence, and community through the lens of hair. It’s about identity, sisterhood, and building something meaningful in the beauty space.”

What began as a passion project has evolved into a purpose-driven brand offering a diverse range of products for women, men, and children. The new Touch ‘n’ Nourish line includes shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, edge control, and beard oil, all designed to celebrate African hair textures and beauty standards.

Hosted by renowned media personality Tariro Gezi, the event will feature influential voices in the beauty and wellness sectors, including Dr. Mandas Marikanda and Sofia Saungweme. Attendees will enjoy lunch, drinks, goodie bags, and engaging conversations under the theme “Fixing a Sister’s Crown.”

Murove, who spent the past few years studying and living in the UK, credits her international experience with sharpening her skills and expanding her vision. “Living abroad taught me resilience, intentionality, and the importance of quality,” she says. “I saw how beauty brands there serve their communities, and I wanted to come back home and do the same — but even better, and in a way that feels truly African and inclusive.”

Inclusivity is at the heart of Murove’s new vision. “Men and children have often been left out of these conversations,” she notes. “Touch ‘n’ Nourish is here to change that.”

Beyond product lines, Murove is also planning to launch the Touch ‘n’ Nourish Academy, which will offer free or affordable beauty training for youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. “This is not just a brand; it’s a movement,” she asserts.

With ambitions to expand into Zambia, Botswana, Malawi, Australia, and the UK, Murove is firmly planting her flag in Zimbabwe first. “Zimbabwe is home,” she affirms. “Launching here is not just business — it’s deeply personal. I want the world to know that this brand was born here. Greatness can come from here.”

As the countdown to “The Hair Affair” begins, Murove’s commitment to empowering her community and redefining beauty standards shines brightly, promising a transformative experience for all who attend.
