In a strategic pivot that underscores the growing trend of “skinification” in hair care, Kenvue, the consumer health care offshoot of Johnson & Johnson, is set to launch innovative product lines aimed at transforming the way consumers approach hair and scalp health. This initiative comes as Kenvue prepares for its acquisition by Kimberly-Clark, signaling a new era for the brand.

The upcoming launches from Kenvue’s well-known brands, OGX and Neutrogena, will focus on scalp health, leveraging skin care-inspired formulations enriched with powerful ingredients like peptides. Andrew Stanleick, President of Kenvue Skin Health & Beauty for North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, emphasized the importance of these products in addressing consumer needs. “Losing your hair impacts self-confidence and self-worth. It was critical that we bring to market solutions that are safe, effective, and affordable,” he stated.

New Product Lines

The Neutrogena Hair Restore line will feature a two-step cleansing system alongside a supplement designed to nourish hair from within. Meanwhile, OGX’s ProGrowth + Peptide Collection will consist of four products aimed at thickening strands, reinforcing roots, and eliminating scalp build-up. Both lines are positioned as accessible solutions for consumers seeking effective hair care.

Collaborative Development

The development of these products involved a collaborative effort between Kenvue’s R&D team, led by Adam Ricciardone, and experts in skin and scalp health. Ricciardone explained, “Our approach with Neutrogena involved working closely with dermatologists to understand their criteria for effective products. For OGX, we consulted trichologists to gain insights into consumer needs, particularly for those with thinner hair.”

This comprehensive strategy reflects Kenvue’s commitment to democratizing access to high-quality beauty and health products, ensuring that consumers can find effective solutions tailored to their specific needs.
