Tytherington Club Unveils £1 Million Transformation: Enhanced Course and State-of-the-Art Gym Facilities
Tytherington Club Unveils £1 Million Transformation, Elevating Golf Experience Year-Round
Cheshire, UK – The Tytherington Club in Macclesfield has officially unveiled the results of a transformative four-year investment programme, totaling £1 million, that has significantly enhanced the golf course and overall member experience.
The ambitious project kicked off in 2022 with a major fairway drainage initiative aimed at future-proofing the course against heavy rainfall. This strategic move has paid off, providing members and visitors with consistently high-quality playing surfaces, even during the notoriously wet winter months.
Building on this success, the club turned its attention in 2024 to a comprehensive bunker redesign, led by acclaimed course architect Jonathan Gaunt. Over two years, every bunker across the 18-hole course was meticulously remodelled, lined, and re-sanded with premium China clay sand. The result? A modernised aesthetic and significantly improved playability that has already garnered praise from golfers.

In addition to the golf course enhancements, the club has also unveiled a state-of-the-art gym featuring the latest Technogym equipment. The new facility boasts an extended functional training space, an improved free weights area, outdoor training zones, and a revitalised group cycle studio. These developments signal an exciting new era for the Tytherington Club, catering to both golf enthusiasts and fitness aficionados alike.

Club Director Ian Shoreman expressed his enthusiasm for the changes, stating, “Over the last four years, we’ve invested over £1 million into the course, and the results speak for themselves. Our drainage system is now second to none, and our bunkers are the envy of neighbouring clubs. We’re writing a new chapter in the club’s history – as the course that stays open through winter. That’s something no one would have imagined a few years ago. And it doesn’t stop there. The club is in a fantastic place right now, and long may it continue.”
With these significant upgrades, the Tytherington Club is poised to become a premier destination for golfers and fitness enthusiasts alike, ensuring an exceptional experience year-round.
